our first unofficial week of summer

in pictures...
last Thursday I got my cast off and put in a boot and I feel like a new woman. Ha! I still can't put all my weight on it, that part is going to be a gradual process. Sorry if the picture of my ankle grosses y'all out. I actually sent this picture to my friend Mary; we nurses are kinda' weird that way. Ha!!

we ventured out to Old Navy to get Bryson some swim shorts for this year. I've seen on several other blogs where the kids love the manikins at Old Navy, well I guess we can add Bryson to the list. Y'all he was giving this one a hug like he was real. Ha! And I can't believe it didn't freak him out that it didn't have a head. Jaxon did great until we were 10 people deep in the check out line where he decided to scream bloody murder. Life with two is VERY different and can be a challenge.

My two sweet boys! Bryson loves getting on the mat and showing Jaxon the colors and the butterflies. I love that Bryson loves his "baby brother" as he calls him! It makes my heart so happy!

Saturday was Bryson's first official swimming of the summer. I hated that I couldn't see him get in for the first time.

Jaxon is pedaling his little feet and grabbing at things. He's growing so fast and changing everyday.

B loves older kids. When he goes up to Gigi and Pops house there is an older boy that will ask to play with Bryson. The other day he came down to the house and they played in the yard.

We've had a great start to our unofficial week of summer. I'm ready to start getting this ankle better so we can do a lot more fun things! What are y'all doing to bring in the start of the summer?

Memorial Weekend 2012

We had a great time celebrating the long weekend at my in-law's house. Clay's sister and brother-in-law came down from Tennessee and his other sister and her family were also there and we had so much fun! We stayed out by the pool, had some delicious meals and were provided with great entertainment by the kids. :)

I didn't get a lot of pictures of anything besides the kids. This was my first time out of the house with my boot on and I'm trying to get used to putting weight on my ankle again, so I stayed in one place for most of the time.

Bryson and Pawpaw. Saturday was his first time out in the pool for the summer. I had to stay inside with Jaxon since it was to hot outside so I wasn't able to get any pictures of him swimming. Boo!

Once the weather cooled off, Jaxon and I ventured outside. The men had set up the horseshoes and all three of the boys watched in awe!

Monday we went back over to my in-laws. Since the weather was a little cooler Jaxon and I got to sit out by the pool for a little while. I really wanted to see Bryson swim. Clay talked about how great he was swimming on Saturday and Sunday and I couldn't wait any longer!

My boys on Memorial Day!

Bryson showing me how he can swim. My nephew Owen relaxing with his Aunt Jennifer under the tent. My niece Claire keeping me and Jaxon entertained.

Jaxon taking a nap shirtless :)

Two of my sweet boys. I was such a proud mama watching Bryson swim. I couldn't believe how good he did. I thought about putting him in swimming lessons, but after watching him over the weekend I don't know if I'm going too.

I'm so blessed to be a part of this family. We always have so much fun and I love our get togethers. Of course the kids make for a lot of our excitement!

Thank you to all the great men and women of this country that have died for our freedom and made it possible for our family to laugh and have a good time. Thank you for all you do and also for your families and the sacrifices they've made also. I am so grateful and blessed to live in this wonderful country!

Last Day of School and Cute Website Find

Were does the time go? Today was Bryson's last day at MDO for the year. Last year I let him go through the summer, but we've got a few things planned so I decided to keep him out. Plus very soon he'll be starting big school and have to go all the time.

Last day of school. The mom in me hated that I couldn't dress him up a little, but they were having a "fun day" and were told to dress in play clothes.

Glad I didn't dress him up. He came home covered in red popsicle stains from a visit from the ice cream truck. He talked about what a fun day he had. I'm really looking forward to him being home this summer!

I can't believe how much he has grown! He doesn't look like a baby anymore; he looks like a little boy.

On another note I want to share with y'all about this website paper coterie. They have some really cute stuff. I ordered this memory keeper to keep all of Bryson's drawings and stuff from school in. I think I'll do one every couple of years.

They have photo books, calendars, planners, and some other really cute gift ideas. I'm thinking about using this site for Jaxon's photo books. I love having those books to look back on since I don't scrapbook.

And right now you can enter the coupon code DADSDAY @ checkout and get 60% off your order. This is a GREAT coupon!

May 14: Bryson is always wanting to get in the middle of Jaxon's playmat and play with him.

May 15: Having a bad day :(

May 16: Funny faces with my littlest baby.

May 17: Bryson sporting his new spider-man sunglasses

May 18: It is soooo hot around here lately. We improvised and opened the front door and let Bryson think he was playing outside. Ha!

May 19: Look at that sweet (funny) face.

jaxon's first outing

Jaxon had his first "real" outing last Friday night. Clay and I loaded up the boys and headed over to his aunt and uncles' house to celebrate his cousin's college graduation. I was UBER excited to get out of the house too! I don't count doctor's appointments as outings and we've had plenty of those the last month. :)

Here is the college graduate! Angie graduated from nursing school last Tuesday. We are so proud of her and I know how hard she worked. I hope she finds a job she loves!!! Trying to talk her into going into peds :)

Aunt Bebe and Uncle Jimmy new just what this boy was going to love for dinner. BBQ and baked beans. What can I say, he's my little Southern man and we love our BBQ!

Nana was impressed about Jaxon trying to hold his head up. You can't tell it in this picture, but he has the best furrowed brow. He looks like a little old man. But this momma is head over heals in love with this baby!

I hate I didn't take my real camera. Bryson, Owen and Aiden had the best time playing out in the back yard. Bryson was infatuated with Aiden. He stayed by her side the entire night and whatever she asked him to do he did it. Oh my he's starting early!

This picture cracks me up. All the men decided they wanted to play softball. Clay is on the left and my FIL on the right. Y'all they gave us all some big laughs. It was a sight to be seen. Ha!

And look at this sweet baby girl. My niece Claire. Oh I could just eat her and that big bow up. Makes me wish I wanted another baby. But I think I'll be fine buying for her and my niece Anna Katherine :)

Oh this precious little baby boy melts my heart! He did so good that night. He slept for the most part and woke up a few times to see what was going on.

Me and the hubby!

It was nice being able to get out of the house and celebrate Angie on her great accomplishment. I will tell y'all it takes some extra time getting two littles dressed and ready and out the door. And it doesn't help that I'm a little cripple right now. Ha! But I know it will get easier each day.

Jaxon did great and much better than I thought since I'm kinda' a freak when it comes to staying on a schedule at this age. I worried all day for nothing - typical of me. I can't wait to get this cast off so I can do more with my boys this summer.

project 365: week nineteen

May 6: These two are like peas and carrots. Bryson just adores his baby brother!

May 7: Bryson wanted me to ride in the backseat with him and little brother.

May 8: Making a choo-choo chain with his micro-machines.

May 9: Jaxon turned 1 month old today. I can't believe he's already one month. The time is going by so so fast.

May 10: Clay took Bryson to the park on Thursday. They had such a good time.

May 11: Jaxon's first outing to Aunt Bobbie and Uncle Jimmy's house to celebrate Angie's graduation from nursing school.

May 12: After a loooong 4 1/2 years, the day finally came...Clay graduated from UAB. I can't tell y'all how proud I am of my husband. :)

it's been a long 4 years

It all came to an end on Saturday. All the years of prayers, late nights, tears, hard work, and much (so much) dedication. My husband graduated from college!!!

I can't tell y'all how proud I am of this man! How proud I am to call him my husband and that he is the one that will be with me to help raise the two boys that we've been blessed with.

Such a proud wife!!!

If it were not for all these people I don't know what Clay and I would have done. They have helped us so much and have been there through it all. We will never be able to thank them enough.

Our family of four!

It's been a very LONG four years! We've been through a lot for a couple our age. But the Lord has provided and has bought us through this season of our lives. We can't wait for what He has in store for us in the future.

Mother's Day 2012

I can't believe I'm celebrating my third Mother's Day today! And my first as a mother of TWO! I prayed for so many years about becoming a mother and today I couldn't be more happy with my life and the blessings that the Lord has given me.

 My very first Mother's day!
I dreamed of this day for so long and I remember being so happy on this day. All my prayers had been answered with the gift of this beautiful little boy!

 Mother's Day 2011

Today was not what I had envisioned six weeks ago. The week before Jaxon's arrival I had plans of going to church for the first time as a mother of two, having Jaxon dedicated and celebrating these two precious little angels and how they've made me a better person and the woman I am today. The Lord had other plans and so I'm enjoying my time at home propping up my broken ankle, eating pizza and watching my sweet boys play and melt my heart :)

I couldn't thank God enough for His blessings and for allowing me to be the mother to these two wonderful little boys. I hope and pray I am everything they want as a mother and that I raise them to love the Lord with all their hearts.

Happy Mother's Day!

jaxon's one month well visit

On Wednesday we went for Jaxon's one month well visit. I made sure to schedule it while Bryson was at MDO so that I wouldn't have to worry about dragging him along and also so I could make sure to get there on time. Of course I didn't make it on time which has been the story of my life for the last 2 1/2 years. Am I like the only mom that can never make it on time to anything no matter how hard I try? And I can't tell y'all how much it frustrates me to be late!

Anyway back to Jaxon's visit.

Doesn't he look thrilled to be here? It's like these babies have radar when it comes to going to the doctor. It never fails that mine always want to be fed right before they call our name. They can't wait til we get back to the room and wait 20-30 minutes before we even see the doctor. Ha!

Daddy with his baby boy!

He had to get his second Hep B shot on this visit. This was right before the nurse came in. I was just so thankful that these weren't the shots that can cause fever. We've really been struggling this week. Crying non-stop and it's so frustrating for me as his mom and that I'm a pediatric nurse and I can't fix the problem and that I don't always have the right answer to why he's crying. I'm thinking that it's just gas and working with children I know how painful that can be. Hey it's even painful for us adults. But it kills me to see my babies cry and wish that they could tell me what's wrong!

It was nice to get out of the house today even if it was to the pediatrician's office. :) I had tons of questions for Dr. G. For some reason I can't remember much about things when B was this small. And Dr. G said it best that if we remembered what it was like then we would never have any more.

I just LOVE this picture! He looks so much bigger here than he does in person.

Everything went great at his appointment. He's growing right on schedule and no other problems or concerns. We are so thankful that he is healthy and growing well! When I got home I wanted to compare his stats with Brysons.

     Bryson......                                             Jaxon.......
    weight: 9lbs 3oz                                  weight: 8lbs 12oz
  height: 21 5/8in                                   height: 21 1/2in

I can't wait to watch these two sweet boys of mine grow up together and to see what they become. Clay and I are so grateful to God for these two precious angels.

jaxon clay {1 month}

Jaxon you are one month old today!

I can't believe you have been with us for a month already! We are adjusting well as a family of four and we so glad you are a part of our family. You are such a blessing to us and we are so thankful to God for bringing you in our lives.

For the most part you are a very content baby unless you are hungry, wet or want to be held. Yes we might have a little problem on our hands with you wanting to be held ALL THE TIME! The first two weeks we had some trouble feeding, but since we've gone to strictly formula you are gaining weight and getting bigger each day. You eat every 2-3 hours during the day and every 3-5 at night.

Some days it seems like you sleep all day long and other days you want to keep your eyes open and play. You have the prettiest blue eyes just like your big brother.

You have given us a few smiles and giggles this week. You will occasionally laugh in your sleep which is the cutest thing!

You love listening and watching your big brother. When he comes in the room you will look towards him and just watch him play. You somehow manage to sleep through his loud noises and play time which I'm sure you got use to while you were in my tummy.

You like to keep your hand up to your face (resting it on your cheek) when you eat. Your not to big on the pacifier and you love laying on mommy and daddy's chest.

~ i love you to the moon and back ~ momma

Stats for this month.......

weight: 8 pounds 12 ounces

length: 21 1/2 inches

clothes: newborn

diapers: size 1

jaxon's first bath

I was finally able to give Jaxon his first "real" bath last night. It's been a couple of weeks since his cord fell off, but with the broken ankle it's just much easier on me to sponge him off.

I have to say I didn't know how much I missed doing these baths. It seems so long ago when we were doing these with Bryson.

He started out liking it okay and then came the full on screaming. I know it will get better each week.
He did enjoy getting his hair washed.
All clean and handsome.

Jaxon's skin has been really dry. So yesterday someone gave me some of the California Baby products and I used the wash and shampoo combo and the moisturizing calming cream. Y'all when we woke up this morning his hands and feet looked wonderful.

I think I'll be purchasing more of this in the future. Have any of you mom's ever used the California Baby products on your little ones? Just curious to see what you think about their products.

project 365: week eighteen

April 29: I just love how much Bryson loves his baby brother. I was so nervous about how he would act, but he is over the moon in love with him!

April 30: Getting a nap outside while Bryson plays in the yard.

May 1: I can't get enough of these two sweet faces!!!

May 2: Trying out tummy time on the boppy pillow. He's still not that wild about it.

May 3: Sitting in mama's lap watching a movie.

May 4: Clay's done with school! YAY!!! What a ride these last 4 1/2 years have been, but I am SO PROUD of my amazing husband and this awesome accomplishment he's made.

May 5: I wanted to do something fun with B since we haven't been able to have some one on one time with him, so we took outside when it got dark and let him play with the glow sticks. He had the best time and so did Clay and I. I hope to do more fun stuff with him soon.

Do Lord, Oh Do Lord

I love listening to B over the monitor in the mornings. Some of the things that boys says cracks me up!

The other morning I heard him singing. He sang Jesus Loves Me, This is the Day and Do Lord, Oh Do Lord. I hate that I only got one of the three because the sings with such passion. :)

So of course I couldn't resist sharing it. I know one day these boys of mine are going to kill me for all the stuff I've posted about them. Ha!!

Flashback Friday

These two sweet little boys both at 25 days old. They couldn't look more different, but have this momma's heart equally. I have never loved anyone (well besides my adoring husband) more than these two littles. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for these two.

Happy Friday!!!
