Better Late Than Never

I think I remember telling y'all that while we were on vacation Bryson started crawling. He has been crawling for months, but it's the army like crawl where he crawls while he's on his tummy like a little army solider. It's sooo cute!

But for the past few weeks this is how Bryson has been getting around the house. I really didn't think he would ever crawl on his hands and knees and his pediatrician seemed to think he wouldn't either, but he fooled us.

I was nervous that he might not ever crawl and I was afraid that it would put him behind developmentally on walking. But his doctor said that there are lots of babies that never crawl and just go straight to walking.

I thought this picture was so funny and had to share it!

He loves pulling up on the loveseat. He's getting better and better everyday. We are hoping that he might be able to start walking by himself in the next few weeks just in time for Aunt Erica's wedding.

That reminds me...Bryson tried on his tux the other night and y'all he looked like the biggest ham! He was soooo funny but he looked soooo cute!! I'll try and post pics sometime this week.

One Year Pictures

A few months before Bryson's birthday I was talking with my momma and we decided that it would be nice to get some professional pictures done of him. I searched ALOT on-line to try and find someone who's pictures I liked but that was also reasonably priced. I found Alisha Crossley on facebook from a friend of a friend and fell in love with her work!
These are just a few of the shots she took. She did an amazing job and I can't wait to use her in the future.

Looks like I'll be spending alot of money!!!

13 Months

Bryson - you are 13 months old!!!!

What have you been up to these days...

You weigh around 24-25lbs. I am already putting you in 18 month clothes. There are some winter things I'm wanting to get you, but I'm just nervous about what size to buy at the rate you are growing right now.

You LIVE to eat. ha! You will just about eat anything we put on your tray. You love green beans, so I feed you those quite often. And you really enjoy eating your pancakes on the weekends. It's so fun now when we go out to restaurants because I can just about order you anything from the menu.

Your love to talk. You are such a social little boy. Your favorite words right now are "baby" and "buy buy". We are working on momma and thank you! And just recently when you see your little toy sheep you will say "baaaaa!!!" So cute!

You are still sleeping great through the night. And you still take 2 naps a day. I think it's going to be a little difficult when I start weaning you to just one nap a day. But what can I say, you are just like your mommy and daddy...we love our sleep!

You are still having separation anxiety when we take you to the nursery. You will cling to me and refuse to let those sweet ladies take you. But once I leave they say you do just fine. And when we come back to pick you up, your always playing and having a good time.

Just last week while we were at the beach you decided you were going to start crawling like a normal baby. You have always been one of those babies that "army crawls" and you can't imagine who excited me and your daddy were when we saw you crawling. And since then you have been pulling up alot better and trying to stand on your own. Your daddy says he thinks you'll be walking by next month. We'll have to see...

I can't believe how fast you are growing. You are such a sweet and loving little boy. You are the light of my life!

Beach Vacation Part 2

I couldn't believe how fast our vacation was flying by. It was already Thursday and I felt like we hadn't been there that long. I told myself that I would try and soak up every minute from then on.

Tuesday afternoon after we left the beach out tent fell and broke due to all the wind so we weren't able to get back out there until Thursday. It was a little overcast and it wasn't too awful hot. I think we only stayed out there for about 30 minutes. Bryson was not having it! I think we was just upset because he couldn't walk around like all the other kids he saw.

This was the "I'm not liking it out here; get me off this sand" meltdown!

After the meltdown we headed to the pool. It started raining not long after we got there so we packed up and went back to the condo and hung out there for the rest of the afternoon.

For dinner that night we decided to eat at the Original Oyster House. This time around it wasn't my favorite place we ate at. It was probably the fact that I ordered the tuna and it just wasn't what I was expecting. But Clay's Mahi Mahi was delicious. Oh, and their chocolate chip cheesecake - to die for!

Clay was insistent that we get Bryson's picture made in this. It is kinda' funny!

There's my little scuba diver :)

Friday we hung out in the condo for most of the day. It rained a good bit so we sat out on the balcony and people watched.

While we were out on the balcony we saw these two guys that looked like they were doing some kind of windsurfing. It was really cool to watch. They would get so high up off the water.

My sweet little man

We ate in on Friday night and attempted to take some beach pictures after dinner, but my camera lens fogged up and Bryson was having another meltdown so we scratched that idea and went for some ice cream. This is Bryson getting his first taste of Dippin Dots. As you can clearly see, he was loving it!

On Saturday we stayed in the condo. Bryson was getting to the point were I think we was wearing down and needed a vacation from the vacation. I did some packing so that on Sunday we would be able to leave on time. While Bryson was taking his mid morning nap Clay ran out and picked up Bahama Bob's again for lunch. Y'all I honestly think I could eat there everyday - it is that good.
And you can't visit Gulf Shores without eating at the famous LuLu's Marina. I can't wait to go back next year. They had so much for kids to do and see. I know Bryson will love it! If you get a chance to eat there get the Crabmelt. YUMMY!!!

Oh, and PLEASE don't forget to get there Key Lime Pie. Y'all it's a small piece of heaven on a plate. The best I've ever had besides my momma's!!!

After dinner I was so glad Clay was sweet enough to go back out to the beach and take pictures again.

I thought I would share a few pictures of Bryson

Our family again

I didn't get alot of pictures with just me and Bryson since I am usually the one taking all the pictures, but I thought this was a sweet picture of me and my little guy!

I just LOVED this picture of Clay and Bryson.

We had such a great time on our trip. Bryson was SO good for his first beach trip - alot better than I thought he would be. We can't wait to take him on trips in the future! I know it will just get better and better.

Beach Vacation Part 1

We left for Gulf Shores on Sunday morning when I got home from work. The drive took us about six hours which wasn't to awful bad since we were traveling with a one year old. Thank goodness for the DVD player Bryson got from his grandma for his birthday. All I can say is LIFESAVER!!! I really think he enjoyed being able to watch his DVD's in the car. Of course once we got down there if was pouring down rain. We were so afraid that it would rain the entire time but luckily - the rest of our trip was a blast!
Once we got into the condo and unloaded our stuff we headed to Bahama Bob's for dinner. Y'all if you're ever visiting Gulf Shores, you've got to eat there. And if you like crawfish or shrimp, their crawfish po-boy is amazing and so is the coconut shrimp. It was SO good! And what's a trip to the beach without visiting Wal-Mart. We headed there after dinner to pick up stuff for lunch and snacks for Bryson and a beach chair.

We didn't have such a great first night. I had been up for over 24 hours from working the night before and then for some reason Bryson woke up around 12AM and was awake til about 3:30AM. I don't know if it was because he was in a strange place, or that he hated sleeping in his pack-in-play, or that he was cutting a few more teeth, or all three. Needless to say we all didn't wake up until after 10AM. So our first day was mostly spent in the condo. Clay and I were both afraid that Bryson might be like this for the entire vacation, but we ended up having alot of fun the rest of our trip.

That night we headed to Bubba's Seafood House for dinner. Clay and I had been there once before when we were on vacation with his parents and sister's right before we got married. I was afraid that after the night we had Bryson might have a meltdown while we were there - and I was right. So Clay and I ate our dinner pretty quickly so we could get out of there and let the rest of the people enjoy their dinner without our child having a complete breakdown.

This was the real reason for eating at Bubba's! Y'all they have the BEST fried pickles I have ever had in my life! They were so yummy!

This was before the meltdown. Bryson was really studying those goldfish. This was the first time he's ever had them and of course he loved them. I snuck a few for myself and had forgotten how good those little fish were! Ha!!!

We finally made it out to the beach on Tuesday! Yay!!! We didn't stay out to long because I was so afraid Bryson would get sunburned even though I kept tones of sunscreen on him and we were under the tent.

This beach trip was unlike any other one I have ever been on. Normally I would spend the entire day relaxing out on the beach laying out on the chair and reading several books. On this trip I didn't do any reading and not alot of relaxing. But being able to watch my son play in the sand and spending our first beach vacation as a family was worth every second!

I really think Clay enjoyed playing with Bryson in the sand. Even though Bryson wasn't too sure what to make of it all - I think my boys had a great time! And I know next year will be even better!!!

Bryson had his fair share of tasting the sand. He would just take handfuls of sand and eat it up like it was candy. I didn't freak out too much. What's a little sand for a mid-morning snack. lol!

For dinner we decided on Lambert's! It's Clay's favorite place to eat when we are in Gulf Shores. They do have some of the best Southern cooking I've had besides my grandmothers.

Here's Bryson trying to catch him one of those rolls. Hahaha!!! I think he really enjoyed eating there as much as Clay and I. He would shove handfuls of black eyed peas and pieces of roll in his mouth constantly. I think he gained about 5 pounds while we were gone.

My favorite thing at Lambert's are the fried potatoes and onions. They are so yummy!!! And they are really good the next morning chopped up like hash browns with some ketchup on the side. YUM-O! Out of all the places we ate I think this night was my favorite. We had such a great time.

Wednesday morning we woke up and went to Tacky Jack's for breakfast. My parents go there just about every day while their down there and as long as I've been going to Gulf Shores, this was my first time there. Clay wanted to sit outside which I was not looking forward too but in the end I'm kinda' glad we did. I heard that you can't visit Tacky Jack's without getting there HUGE pancake. Clay and I both ordered one which was crazy of us when I saw the waiter bring them out. Y'all they covered the entire plate!

Of course Bryson enjoyed his bites of pancake and bacon! They had the neatest highchair like seat. Those metal bars in the picture clamps on the table and then he just sits in this mesh like seat and then you can pull the the big chair underneath him. I thought it was just the coolest thing. It's funny when you have kids what gets you excited!!

We headed to the pool after Bryson took his morning nap. The condo had one of those zero entry pools and I think he liked being able to walk all around. Clay and I would take turns walking him from one end to the other. It won't be too long before he's walking on his own.

Bless his heart, the sun was so bright and he refused to wear his sunglasses or his hat so he spent most of his time walking around squinting his eyes!

Since we went out for breakfast that day we decided to eat our leftovers from Lambert's for dinner and just hang out in the condo and relax and not have to worry about getting ready to go out for supper. We played a game of Scattergories and I watched SYTYCD. Great ending to the night!

Will post the second part of our trip tomorrow!

Gulf Shores 2010

Well...we've been on our first family vacation this past week! It was really nice to get away and spend some much needed time with my two favorite boys. We had an amazing time and I can't wait to blog all about it! I will have to split it up into two posts because I took WAY to many pictures!

So Bryson didn't care to much for the sand and that was okay. But overall I think he had a great time!

So I've got ALOT of unpacking and laundry to do. Who new three people could have this much laundry :) And I need to tidy up the house a little before I start back to work tomorrow night. Oh, and did I mention we have NO food in the house!

Baby BumbleBee Song

I'm bringing home a Baby BumbleBee,
Won't my momma be so proud of me?

I'm bringing home a Baby BumbleBee,
Ouch! He stung me!

I'm squishing up a Baby BumbleBee,
Won't my momma be so proud of me?

I'm bringing home a Baby BumbleBee,
Yuck! He's all over me!

I'm wiping of a Baby BumbleBee,
Won't my momma be so proud of me?

I'm wiping of a Baby BumbleBee,
Look! All clean!!!

And yes, that last picture my son is watching So You Think You Can Dance! Gotta love it!!! We sing this song ALOT! Bryson loves it!!! Just thought I would share it with ya'll.
