To Grandpa's House We Go {Part 1}

I'm finally getting around to posting about our trip to visit my dad and his family. Better late than never is my new motto. I think I've mentioned that before. Ha! I'll go ahead and let y'all know this is more of a post for me and my family to document/remember our trip. And it has a ton of pictures!

We left out the day Jaxon turned 3 months. And I wished I would have remembered to take a picture of our luggage. CRAZYYY!!! I had no idea 2 adults and 2 little people could have that much stuff for a week. I knew this trip would probably not go as good as I would have liked it since Jaxon hates riding in the car. So I knew there would be lots of crying and lots of stops. But driving was better and cheaper than the alternative.

We made it all the way to Shreveport the first day. Bryson was so excited to get to stay in a hotel. He loved it! This is only his second time and he was all over the place. I love the picture above of the boys. I still can't get over the fact that I have TWO boys!
We got into Arlington a little after lunch. And I'm such a bad daughter that I didn't get a picture of my dad with the boys when we first got there. To be honest I'm really trying to balance taking pictures and being in the moment. Not to mention it's a little hard with two now.

We had dinner at Fuzzy's which is an awesome Mexican restaurant. It's Clay's favorite place to eat when we go out there. This time I ventured out and got the fish tacos. They were actually really good. And there fried potatoes and refried beans are delicious.
Bryson had the best time playing with Kristyn. The built a railroad park, barns, towers, racetrack. You name it he wanted to build it. And I've got to find out where my step mom found this blocks. Would be a great gift from Santa. ;) ;)

On our second day the boys played in the pool. B loved the smaller pool that attached to the bigger one. It has a fountain that shoots water out the middle and he would put his cars around the top and race them.

We also got to visit my grandparents out in Frisco. They enjoyed getting to see the boys. This was there first time meeting Jaxon and they haven't gotten to see B in over a year. I was so glad we were able to see them and visit for a little while.
I did my research and found out there was an IKEA less than 5 miles from my grandparents house. We don't have one in AL and the closest one is in Atlanta so I let the crew know we had to stop by there on our way home. I was looking for some cheap white picture frames to hang in the boys rooms. Of course they were out of white, but I did get several black ones and decided I could spray paint them white.

After looking around in there I wished Alabama would get one. They had some really great things and at a very decent price. I could have spent hours in there.
Bryson loved this spot on the fireplace. So my dad and step mom made him a pallet to lay on. He's such a ham!

Well this wraps up the first few days. The next post will have LOTS more pics. We did a lot of fun things with the boys while we were out there. Not sure when I'll get to it. We have several changes going on with our little family. All exciting, but might take some getting adjusted too. More to come on that!

Happy Monday!!!
