Wordless Wednesday

Well it's almost a Wordless Wednesday!

Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen? Ever since we put Bryson in his new car seat, this look is automatic! He will just sit back there are look at his Handy Manny book in silence.

I think this absolutely adorable and I just had to share it with ya'll!! Hope ya'll are having a wonderful Wednesday!

And We're Walkin'...Well We're Tryin'

So I can't remember if I told ya'll that Bryson's doctor told us we had to take his walker away when we were at his one year check-up. Her reason was that she thought he would associate walking with sitting down. It makes sense when you think about it, but oh my this momma needs a little rest! All we do all day long is walk around the house. I really do enjoy walking with him, however my back isn't always happy. I feel so sorry for him that we had to take his walker away because it was something he enjoyed very much!

Bless his heart, he wants to walk on his own so bad, but just hasn't gotten the whole balance thing down yet. I get VERY nervous when I try and let him stand on his own, not because I don't want him to fall, but it's how he falls. Every time he falls he goes straight back. He rarely falls sitting on his bottom (not sure if that is because he never crawled on his knees???). He's getting better though.

In some way I feel like it is my fault that he doesn't crawl and can't stand up on his own yet. I ask myself all the time, did I hold him to much, was there something I forgot to do that I should have done, is there something that I can do to help him? I just feel so bad for him and I blame myself alot of the time. I know that I'm a good momma! People tell me all the time what a sweet, happy, loving little boy I have! But as his momma I still can't help but wonder...that's what momma's do. We wouldn't be good ones if we didn't care.

It's funny when he walks with me he wants me to hold both of his hands, but when he's with Clay he'll walk holding just one of his hands. Not sure what that's all about, I just thought it was funny how he's different with us.

He's getting better everyday! I know he'll walk when he's good and ready and I'm sure I'll look back at this post one day and wish he was still sitting and not tearing my house to pieces. Hahaha!!!

New Beginnings @ GFBC

I'm not sure if I've ever shared with ya'll about our church's expansion. The plans for a new church building has been in the works for years now and today will be our first service in the new building. I'm really excited about the move and the plans God has for our church! I hate that we are going to be on vacation and miss the first two weeks of services.

These are pictures of our new sanctuary

As of now we have over 8000 members with 3 services on Sunday's. With our new worship center we will be able to seat more people and will have 2 services on Sunday mornings.

There are a few minor details that will cause a few bumps for us on Sunday mornings. The nursery wing of the new building will not be completed for another 2 years, so I've been told and they do not have enough rooms for all of the Sunday School classes, so in the meantime we will be sending Bryson to the old campus (it's just a few miles away) and mine and Clay's SS class will also be meeting at the old campus.

I'm not going to lie...I have been one of those people who has been a little negative about the situation and the inconvenience that this will cause our family. I hate the thought of leaving my child in a totally different building while Clay and I are at church. But I have to realize this is just temporary. Clay and I have prayed alot about this situation and what is best for our family. And we realized that "yes" this is something we are willing to go through even if it might be a little hard at first. Eventually we will get the hang of things and eventually we will all be at the new building.

This is the new cross that is up in front of the church. There are alot of people who weren't wild about the cross going up. Some thought it was a bit extravagant. I think it's beautiful!

We have made such wonderful friendships at Gardendale and that is something we would hate to give up. The ministry opportunities they offer are amazing! I truly hope this is where God leads us to stay. I am so excited for what's in store in the future for our church.

Table Tantrums

Lately there's been a certain little person in our house that has the biggest temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way at the table. And no I'm not talking about Clay... Hahaha!!!

It is automatic when you put Bryson down in his highchair he throws the biggest fit I've ever seen.

I told ya'll I wasn't joking!!

Look at that face. You'd think he'd never had a bite to eat in his life!

This has been ongoing for awhile. We've caught him several times throwing his milk cup and food in the floor. Is this normal? He acts like this at breakfast, lunch, and dinner time. I'm hoping that it's just a phase and it will pass. I hate seeing him so upset...because he's always been such a happy baby, but I've done everything I can think of to try and fix it. I guess he's just a little boy who wants to eat when he wants to eat!

One Year Doctor's Visit

Yesterday we had Bryson's One Year checkup. I can't believe I scheduled that babies visit on his birthday. What was I thinking? But he did so good up until his shots. Ugh...I felt so bad. He had the biggest crocodile tears you've ever seen.
Our doctor said Bryson is doing great. NO MORE FORMULA!!! That was music to my ears! And our grocery bill has now just been cut in half. She also told us that we needed to take his walker away. That kinda' makes me sad :( I love watching him in his walker and he has so much fun in it. He gets so excited running all over the house. But I understand her point that she's afraid he will associate walking with sitting down. Still I hate to take it away from him.

His official weight is 23pounds and 8ounces. Chubby little man!!! Which is just above the 50th percentile. And he is 29 1/2 inches long which puts him 1/2 inch shy of the 50th percentile. My husband was somewhat disappointed in his height, but I had to remind him again for the 5th time that the doctor said you cannot determine a child's height until the age of 2. I'm not to worried about it. Short or tall I'll love him the same!

After our doctor's visit we took a trip to Target and purchased Bryson a new car seat. I didn't realize until today that the other seat we got at our shower was a Kids Booster Seat and doesn't fit children less than 30pounds. I decided on the Evenflo. That was the brand we had for Bryson's infant seat and the price wasn't too bad either. I don't like purchasing things without reading reviews, but so far the reviews I've read have been pretty good.

We took Bryson to Logan's for dinner. Clay and I eat at Logan's every now and then. They have the 2 meals for $14.99 Monday-Wednesday and the menu you get to choose from isn't that bad. Today we saw their special 3 course meal for 2 for $19.99. Clay and I both ordered the small sirloin and Bryson got to chow down on Mac-n-Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. And he probably had 1 to many rolls!

Ya'll I don't think we're going to have any problems getting him started on whole milk. He guzzled it down like he was going to the electric chair.

Our next appointment is at 15 months. I can't wait to see how he has changed by then. Maybe he'll be walking on his own :)

One Year Old

Bryson~
Today you will be one year old at 11:58am. The day you were born was one of the happiest times for me and your daddy. That was the day I became a mommy, something I wasn't sure I would ever get the chance to be. And since that day, God has poured out so many blessings on our family. You have brought so much joy and laughter to mine and your daddy's lives. There are still days when I have to pinch myself because I still can't believe you are here and you are mine.
I never would have imagined I could love my child so much. There is nothing in this world that I wouldn't do for you. You are the sweetest, most handsome little boy I have ever laid my eyes on. You will never understand how much your daddy and I love you!

So what have you been up to at one year???

You weigh around 24 pounds. You're the chubbiest thing! I'll find out your exact measurements today for your one year checkup.

You are in size 12-18 month clothes. Size 4 diapers.

You can eat like a grown man. You love just about everything we put in front of you. The only thing you haven't been crazy about is hamburger meat. You make this funny face and then spit it out.

You have started pulling up and taking a few steps. I know it won't be too long and you'll be all over the house.

You can say a few words, but you mostly just babble alot. The words you can say are "da-da", "bye-bye" and "uce" (which is juice).

You can wave bye-bye and have just started clapping and putting your hands on your head when we say "uh-oh." You will give kisses when we say "Bryson, give me love." It's the cutest thing! You open your mouth and lean forward. So adorable!!!

You are still taking 2 naps a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

You go to bed between 7 and 8 and sleep til 7. Every once in a while you'll wake up during the night, but it's very rare. You have always been such a good baby when it comes to sleeping.

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little boy I know. I love you so much!!!

Bryson's First Year

I can't believe one year ago today I was getting a call from my doctor telling me we would be having Bryson a day early! I remember that day like it was yesterday! I was so nervous, excited, scared, and every other emotion you could think of. I couldn't sleep a wink that night at the hospital. The anticipation for the next day just consumed my every thought. Wondering what he would look like...would he have dark hair like me when I was born, would he have his Aunt Erica's nose like we thought he might, would I be a good mom, scared because he was coming early, would he love me????

I never would have dreamed that a year later I could love someone so much.

I made a slide show with some of the pictures we have taken of Bryson over the last year. I wanted to play it at his party but we had a few glitches and so it didn't get finished in time. That's probably a good thing since I cry everytime I watch it. I know I've said this over and over but ya'll I can't believe how fast this year has flown by.

Words can't even tell ya'll what a joy and blessing he has been! God has really blessed Clay and I and our family with such a special little boy. I thank God everyday for allowing me to be his mommy.

I apologize...the video is kinda' long, but if you have time I hope you get a chance to watch it.

1st Birthday (a.k.a. longest post ever)

We had Bryson's party this afternoon and oh my did we have alot of fun!!! There were about 40 adults and kids that came so the church fellowship hall was pretty full. The pictures I took were not the best (I did have to cater to the birthday boy), so I hope to get copies of my mom and dad's soon.

Here's the birthday boy! I don't think he really knew what was going on, but ya'll he had the best time!

I thought the cake table turned out so cute. And doesn't the banner match just perfect?

A friend from work told me about this cute idea for the table cloth. Each year for her son's birthday see would paint the theme of the party and then put his hand prints on it. I just had to steal that idea!! I'm going to tell ya'll that trying to do hand prints on a one year old is a little bit of a job. But it I thought it looked amazing!!

The strawberry cake was wonderful! Jan @ Dreamcakes did the best job! It turned out so cute! I will definitely use them again.

Bryson's smash cake was adorable! He had alot of fun with it as you'll see...

Our family - the three of us had the best time. I can't believe a year has gone by already. It seems like yesterday I was getting a call from my doctor saying we were going to have him a day early and how excited and nervous we were. I never would have dreamed God would have blessed us this much!!

This was just the start of his smashing of the cake.

I was so glad that Mary was able to come. I had to have her expertise on cutting cake. That is something this girl has never had to do. Don't know what I would have done without her today.

Bryson has been doing this new thing putting his hands on his head...

He was having THE BEST time!!! He was loving being the center of attention!

This was the final picture with his cake. Cleaning that boy up was a chore. My brother came up with the cutest idea of having his bib framed. He said it would look like a piece of art. So I think I'll be looking at Hobby Lobby in the next few weeks to see what kind of frame I can find.

I couldn't believe my grandparents were able to come. When I saw them in the car with my parents I started tearing up. I didn't think they would be able to make it. I was so glad that were there.

That's one proud Mimi!

Bryson loves his Nana and PawPaw!

My dad and stepmom were loving being able to spend alot of time with Bryson this week.

We love Uncle Tommy and Aunt Michele! Cannot wait til they make their baby announcement :)

Since little Owen is still little bitty, they had people take turns watching him so Aunt Jessica and Uncle Charlie could come celebrate in the festivities. We stopped by their house on our way home so we could get a picture!!

Bryson was loving Aunt Erica's bling! I was so glad that the Future Uncle Seth was able to come down for the party.

Clay's grandparents really enjoyed themselves. I think Grandma was freaking out with all that icing in Bryson's hair!!

Two of my Aunts drove all the way from Texas for Bryson's party. It was great getting to see them and I hated that they could only stay for a day.

Our friend's Katie and Shawn are so much fun! We were finally able to get a picture with Bryson smiling while Shawn was holding him. I think Bryson is a little fearful of all the facial hair. We love you though Uncle Shawn!!!

Our friends from church Jonathan and Kristie. You can't tell but Kristie is pregnant with the future little Mr. A. Doesn't she look great? I can't wait to meet that little man!!!

Boy did we have a time getting Bryson and Barrett's picture made. Trying to get 4 boys to look at the camera together is not that easy. Ha! I hate that I didn't get a picture with Barrett's mom Maggie.

Bryson had so much fun playing with all the balloons.

It looks like Santa threw up in our house. LOL! We couldn't believe all the stuff he got. It was WAY TO MUCH!!! But I know he'll enjoy himself for quite a while.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. We have made so many memories in just one short year. God has really blessed Clay and I this last year with a healthy, happy, baby boy! I couldn't have asked for anything better. He's been our heart and we love him so much!!!
