Easter 2013

It's been such a busy week this past week with Jaxon's party and I was sick for most of the week so I'm finally getting around to posting about our Easter weekend. I hope to get Jaxon's party post up and a few other things we've been doing these past few weeks.

I just love Easter! Everything about it just makes me so happy!! I am so thankful to serve a RISEN Savior!

Naturally I had to work Easter weekend, but since I've cut down on my hours at work I was able to take a PTO day Friday night so I could go to Clay's dads' house Saturday for our family Easter. It's a tradition that my MIL started last year since all of us have so many places to go on Sunday.

This was the best picture I could get of the boys together. Jaxon wasn't too wild about sitting in the grass. But doesn't he look adorable in his SheShe Made outfit? Thanks again Ashley! :)

The kids got to hunt Easter eggs out in the back yard. I've never seen so many eggs in all my life. Bryson would only pick up the "boy" colored eggs though. Every time he would find an egg he would say "that's a girl egg, I can't have that one!" Ha! Bless his heart, he missed out on a lot of M&M's.

The men played horse shoes for most of the afternoon. They are always out there playing when ever we have get togethers.

Bryson and Owen were itching to get into their Easter baskets.

Bryson and Aunt Erica

These two just melt my heart. Claire is the sweetest cousin ever!

And this little one decided he would take his first two steps while we were over at Pawpaw and Nana's.

Sunday I was late coming home from work so we ended up going to the 11am service. And then after church headed over to Clay's grandparents house for lunch and then Clay took the boys to my parents house later that evening while I stayed home and slept.
My little family on Easter morning.

I had forgotten to set out the boys Easter baskets that morning so I ended up pulling them out of our closet when they came into our room. We don't really make a big deal over the Easter bunny. Not to mention, Bryson found the baskets on Friday night and that little stinker never forgets anything. Sophie and the Jellycat Bunnies were a HUGE hit!
My three loves!

And just for fun I thought I would do a comparison picture of our last 4 Easters.

Hope y'all had a wonderful Easter holiday!!!

4/9/13

we had a relaxed day celebrating Jaxon's "birthday" today. my dad and step mom were still in town from the party last weekend. We took them to on of our local parks and ate lunch. Then Bryson wanted to take Grandpa to the park by our house. Jaxon and I just hung out in the front yard and I just loved on him and tried to take in every second. I honestly can't get over the fact that he is really ONE today! He has blessed our lived tremendously! And I'm so thankful for him!!!

dear jaxon

my sweet baby boy~

today at 1:55pm you will turn a YEAR OLD! For as long as I live I will never forget how you came into this world. I had spent the last eight weeks of my pregnancy sitting home, lying in the bed, praying you would stay put until you were ready to make your entrance. And my what an entrance you made (with a little help from your mama!).

I was scared to death about giving birth to you. Maybe not so much as the birthing experience, because hey I've been there done that, but more about what it would be like taking you home. It wasn't going to be all that I had envisioned. See I went and broke my ankle the day before you were born and was going to have surgery 2 days after you were born. I had no idea how I would be able to take care of you and your big brother, not being able to walk for 10 weeks!

the first few weeks of your life were a fog. I blame myself (and being medicated) on not remembering a lot of your first few days and weeks in this world. I'm not going to lie, I was angry at God for things not going how I thought they should have gone. Your pregnancy was such a sweet surprise to me and your daddy and the rest of our family and I felt like all those moments were being taken away. But baby boy, God taught me so much in those days, weeks, and months ahead. He has shown me so much in your short time here on this earth. And I am SO THANKFUL!!!

from day one, you have been a wonderful baby. You never had trouble sleeping, you were a good eater, you never really fussed or cried, and you have always been content with whatever is going on around you. I remember getting several comments from others about what a "good baby" you were and my reply was always, "God knew I could only handle so much." Jaxon Clay, don't you ever forget that! No matter what this life brings you, God knows just how much you can take. He loves you more than your daddy and I could ever love you and just like us he wants what's best for you.

sweet angel you have made our family complete! I am so excited to see what God has in store for your life. Just like your big brother I know He has amazing plans for you! You have brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. I'm so blessed to be your mama! ~i love you to the moon and back~ mama
