Happy 2014!

I can't believe another year has come and gone! Time is so fleeting.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. I am so looking forward to what 2014 brings! I've never been one to set "new year's resolutions," but I have several goals that I have made for myself this year. I'm really excited about 2014 and growing more in my faith. God has placed upon my heart a passion to pour into my boys like never before. Our time here on earth is so short and now more than ever do my boys need to be grounded in the Word and have a firm foundation to stand on. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a year like I'm looking forward to this year!

Happy 2014!!!

Thankful Thursday

God made a world out of his dreams,
Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,

Prairies, plains and wooded land,
Then paused and thought, “I need someone to stand,

On top of the mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees,

Someone to start off small and grow,
Sturdy and strong like a tree” and so

He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run

With dirty faces, and banged up chins
With courageous hearts and boyish grins,

And when He had completed the task He’d begun,
He surely said, “That’s a job well done.”

Bryson's School Pictures

Last month Bryson had his very first school pictures taken. I tried so hard to prep him the night before and the morning of. Can you say OCD mama! Ha!! They had a local professional photographer come in and take their pictures outside. I think after looking at his gallery there was maybe ONE picture that turned out where he was looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. Oh well, that's life with a four year old.

I can't believe we are even at this point where Bryson is taking school pictures. Didn't I just find out I was pregnant with this precious boy?

Oh and on a side note, my kid has AMAZING hair!! Just sayin'

Disney on Ice

Thursday I went with Bryson's class on a field trip to Disney on Ice. This was the first time Bryson has ever been. Tickets can be a little outrageous and I wasn't sure if it would be something Bryson would sit through.

I went as a chaperone with B's class. And at the last minute they asked me if I would ride the bus since they didn't have enough parents going. Boy did that bring back some memories. Not to mention how surreal it was to be riding a bus with YOUR CHILD! Crazy!!! Never in a million years did I picture that day coming. I was a little afraid that he would want to be beside me the entire time, but he got right on the bus and sat beside a friend without blinking an eye. He's growing up!! Cue the tears.

Buddies for the day. It was so sweet watching him interact with other boys.

The teachers did a great job coming up with the glow sticks. Once all the kids got settled in their seats we handed out glow sticks for the kids to play with during the show. Brilliant if you ask me. It kept my kid from asking for one of those over priced toys that might only last a night.

This year the show was about Princesses and Hero's. The little girl that still lives inside me was so excited to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Bryson was chawed to see them too.

OMG!!! And the Seven Dwarfs!!!

Belle and Lumiere. My favorite Princess of all. Watched this movie a million times.

I wasn't too sure if he would be into the whole Princess and Hero thing. I actually thought he would be constantly pulling on my arm telling me "mama this is for girls." Ha!!! But he was mesmerized by the whole adventure.

Ariel and Ursula.

Cinderella and her Prince Charming.

The entire cast.

Had the best time with my big boy! I'm not sure who had a better time, me or him. I'm so glad I was able to go. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to do things like this with my boys. To me this is what life is all about.

Star Student

This week it was Bryson's turn to be the "Star Student" for the week. He had been telling me all last week how it was going to be his turn next to be the star student. So when I got home Monday afternoon he ran to the door showing me what all he had gotten to bring home for the week.

His teacher sent home a cute little bag with a journal to write in, two books and a little mouse stuffed animal. Bryson loved that mouse. He even gave it a name, "Mousy."

Mrs. Coffey makes each child feel so special when they are star student for the week. Their little picture goes on the bulletin board and they have a special seat they get to sit in throughout the week.

Monday night Clay had an away game so the boys and I hopped in the car and went thru the Chick-fil-A drive thru for dinner. And of course Mousy went along for the ride. He is a cute little mouse.

On Tuesday Mousy helped Bryson disguise his Thanksgiving turkey. They decided on a cowboy.

Mousy really fit into our family! He was just like another member.

I snapped this picture of Bryson yesterday morning before we left for Disney on Ice. The star student gets to be the line leader all week and they have this cute little sign that says "Line Up Please!" How cute is that!?!

And one last picture of these two before he had to turn in his Star Student duties.

I am so very thankful for teachers like Brysons'. She does so much for them to make them all feel special. She really goes above and beyond for her kids.

31 days of {10 minute captures} - Day 31

It's Halloween! We had a FUN night trick-or-treating with the boys. Since it was supposed to rain (which it did not long after we shutter down for the night) we decided to hit up just a few houses.

Deciding on costumes this year was a little tricky. At first Bryson wanted to be Sulley from Monster's Inc. but I could never find a costume that I really liked, so his second choice was Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. After we settled on Bryson's costume I was looking forward to finding a parrot costume for Jaxon; then I remembered that we had a lion costume Bryson wore when he was Jaxon's age and it was just too adorable to pass up. So the queen of always wanting my kids to dress alike or coordinate in some way took a Jake and a lion out trick-or-treating.
